Look Inside a Greenhouse Wedding in Metro Detroit

One of the unwritten tales about weddings is that not only is it a celebration of your love, but it’s a celebration about who you and your beloved are as people! From the colors you choose to your first dance number, every wedding and couple is unique and I always walk away from each event with at least one great story to tell!  That’s part of the reason I have this blog, although some stories are not meant to be shared in public :)

Christina and Tony are a prime example of this. The couple loves to travel - and in fact, Christina has seen many of the great Wonders of the World! Their wedding theme showcased this love throughout their “Passport to Marriage” invite and the brightly colored flowers meant to showcase their love of unique destinations.

GREENHOUSE WEDDING INSPIRATION

Their wedding venue also was suitably picked to showcase Christina and Tony’s love of far off places. While the Royal Park Hotel is located right in the heart of Rochester, MI near Detroit, the conservatory (where the ceremony took place) would make you think you’d stepped right into one of the many botanical gardens in the state. It’s timeless without being stuffy, and the hotel is situated right on the edge of Plant Creek so it provides the visual of the water without the effort of booking a lakefront venue.

The bridal party’s bright coral colored dresses made a stunning backdrop against all the greenery in the conservatory, and while many of our shots were serious you can tell this couple is all about having fun with those that they love!  The details of the green space were accented by the botanical accents on the aisleways and the wood-inspired gold chairs. The Royal Park Hotel is a space that’s like no other, and I was so happy to get to photograph here!

WEDDINGS AT THE ROYAL PARK HOTEL

Once Christina and Tony officially became man and wife, the wedding moved out of the conservatory and into one of the nearby reception rooms. Hotel weddings are so convenient because they can put everything all in one place so your guests don’t have to drive around!

I knew Christina and Tony’s friends and family were the type to want to dance the night away, but I was able to sneak them off for a few minutes to get a few gorgeous nighttime shots outside before their sparkler sendoff!  They definitely took out all the stops to add fun elements to the reception, from glow accessories to cardboard cutouts of their beloved dog!
