Classic to a T: A Wedding at the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village

Stepping into the Dearborn Inn to celebrate Julianne and Lee’s wedding in July felt like a literal dream.
DETROIT WEDDINGS AT THE DEARBORN INN
Built in 1931 on the former grounds of the Ford Motor Company, this historic destination outside Detroit sits on 23 acres of gorgeous landscaping. The namesake Henry Ford envisioned a place where his travelers and business colleagues could rest and get food after flying into what was then known as Ford airport. It’s designed in what’s known as a Georgian architectural style by famed architect Albert Kahn. From the checkerboard ceiling to the beautiful crown modeling I was in heaven! The classic backdrop of the hotel was the perfect backdrop for the bride and groom to get ready for their special day. The landscapes were especially lush with all of summer’s flowers in bloom and made for some exceptional family photos.
HENRY FORD AND GREENFIELD VILLAGE MICHIGAN WEDDINGS
After getting some incredible photos in the hotel hallway that made me feel like I’d stepped back in time, the bride and groom hopped into the Model T to take them to our final destination - the Henry Ford Event Center at Greenfield Village! Named the best event center in Detroit, this amazing location made for an absolutely unbelievable ceremony and reception. While the wedding details were somewhat traditional, the unique location made the day feel so special. It was a true time traveling experience, from the antique wood tables at the reception site to the Americana decor outside.

From there, Julianne and Lee proceeded to dance the night away alongside their favorite people - the perfect end to a beautiful celebration!
